Xanga has gotten confusing

Seriously, when did xanga get so hard to use???  I had to click on like 5 different links to see my page (just to find out the last time I posted).

So, most of you know this, but it's time to start spreading the word for reals, yo: i'm over law.  I want to be a wedding photographer full time (don't laugh, i'm serious).  I'm shooting a LOT this summer, with other people and some of my own events.  I desperately want to leave my jobby job next spring, but this will only happen if I book a lot more weddings.

The point: refer me.  I swear, i'm good.  I have a website and a blog and nice cameras and lenses and business cards and everything one needs.  I'm legit, with a business license and a tax resellers permit.  I have contracts.  And references.  I am working my tail off this summer (and most likely next, because leaving this spring is very idealistic) - at least one wedding nearly every weekend, then I go home and do more work.  Three consecutive weeks of 75+ hour weeks plus a 8-10 hour wedding on a weekend day.  Let me escape my hellhole.  Book me.

(in case you peeps haven't seen my stuff, here are the links: http://www.juliawilliamsphotography.blogspot.com and http://www.juliawilliamsphotography.com)

An update at long last!

So, I was in nyc for four days... then I came back, worked two days, went to my bosses wedding (super fancy, as I speculated) Saturday... then I left at the crack of dawn again on Sunday to go back to new york again.  Basically, I flew 10,000 miles over 9 days, which is insane.  And I had some insane airport drama:

1) my (second) flight home, it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get from midtown to JFK.  This is almost twice as long as the cab driver speculated.  As a result, I got to the airport 50 minutes before my flight was leaving... and of course there is a line... I was flying first class, and there is a first class terminal for delta at jfk, however, there were people in front of my that were not in first.  Normally, I would not have been agitated about this... however, there is a rule that you HAVE to have a boarding pass 45 minutes before the flight takes off.  So I was agitated.  Anyways, I overheard the ticket counter person saying this to someone else, so I literally jumped out of line and was like 'my flight leaves in exactly 45 minutes, please help me' as I handed her my ID.  She couldn't check luggage (by that time, it was 44 minutes, and she couldnt override that)... so she told me to just take my three things as carry ons.  She also said (at first) that she couldnt even check me in because it was two late.  I had a moment of real panic, and then milked it for some fake tears as I sobbed 'but its the last flight home tonight!'.  (this was somewhat true, since I would have had to go to a different airport to get on a later flight, which I may not have made).  So she did something to override the system, told me to just take all three things as carry ons, and I dashed on my merry way right through security and into the plane.

2) my first flight home, I saw the fires from the plane as we were landing.  It was scary.

3) I then proceeded to leave my makeup bag on the plane, which had pretty much all of my expensive jewelry in it.  I have seriously gotten into it with Delta about what happened with the bag (REALLY long story, but I will tell).  As of right now, I have the bag back with only my makeup brushes (seriously, someone stole my mascara and my contacts, but left my makeup brushes - EWW), but I am hopeful that the thief in baggage services will get caught due to the hard work from my new friend, Bassel, the head of Delta operations in San Diego.  (yeah, apparently being diligent can take you to the top of the airport chain).

And now... I'm enjoying my weekend and catching up on errands and sleep and stuff.  I really needed the time off, it feel SO good.  Hope all is well with everyone else!

I am (unexpectedly) off to NYC for an indeterminate period of time (earliest i'll be home is Wednesday, latest is the Tuesday after) for work.  It is SO hard to pack when you don't know exactly how long you will be somewhere, especially somewhere like NYC where I have to wear actual formal business suits every day for my doc review/depo taking project.  And I am so embarassed, all of my suits have dog hair on them or are dirty... hopefully Gabai can point me in the direction of a cheap dry cleaners when I get there....
